Katherine and I had a great weekend together. We were able to get away from Abilene and spend time with family, both hers and mine. Friday, we were able to drive to Brownwood. I had the opportunity to meet one set of Katherine's grandparents. They were a joy to meet. They welcomed us with enthusiasm and love. We enjoyed dinner and a movie together.

Afterward, we drove out of town a couple miles and spent the evening with her Dads side of the family. We enjoyed the good company of a few of the hunters who were on the ranch for the opening weekend of deer season. We woke up early the next morning to enjoy a great breakfast prepared by Katherine's stepmother, Paula and to take family pictures. A family friend was able to take a great deal of priceless pictures; I will post a few when they come in.

After a great lunch, Katherine and I left for a wedding reception in San Antonio. We attended the reception with my family and shared laughs at a movie afterward. The next morning my mother made a amazing breakfast and then we all attended church together. Lunch was spend with my family, grandfather, and uncles family. It was great for Katherine to meet everyone and to get to know more family members.

We then took off for a quick stop in Brownwood for dinner before leaving for Abilene. It was a spectacular weekend full of great company and relaxing environments all around.

God bless family.

Life's Joyous Rhythm

Paean
(pee'-un) n. a joyously exultant song or hymn of praise, tribute, thanksgiving, or triumph.

My mother has always made effort to stress the importance of recording memories. For as long as I can remember, she has been a regular journal writer. Each of her children have half a dozen 2'' binder scrapbooks packed full documenting memories from our individual childhood. She has also recently created a Munoz family blog with current news and events.

As I get older, I am recognizing the significance of having these things in our family and the importance of continuing this tradition. It is truly amazing when you are able keep a physical snapshot of those happy moments life gives us the privilege to enjoy. It is because of this new found realization and appreciation that I create this blog today.

One of the Mens Fraternities on campus is the Kiva birds, we thought it would be a fun constume in their honor.
